COWARDLY DEMOCRATS REFUSE TO ENGAGE ON TERROR DEBATE

Who would ever have believed that the President and the Congress of the United States of America would be having a debate about whether or not to torture prisoners. How low have we sunk as a nation?

But what we're seeing here isn't just an isolated event. And I suspect that if Bush had managed to conduct the war in Iraq with just a bit more success than he has, we wouldn't be having this debate.

Senators McCain, Graham and Warner have begun the process of disengaging the GOP from the Bush administration's military defeat. People are coming to the conclusion that we were led into an unwinnable debacle, and the time has come to get us out.

It's over. Bush lost. Move on.

"THE PATH TO 9/11" SCRUTINZED UNFAIRLY

As opposed to hysteria and rage coming from those defending the Bush administration?

Funny to see the two sides of the equation so energetically damning each other in hopes of making their boy look like he's as pure as the driven snow.

Al Qaeda grew during the Bush I and Clinton years, and 9-11 happened on Junior's vacation-filled watch.

There are no innocents here.

QUICK THOUGHTS ON PART II OF P29/11

Sounds positively Apocalyptic, Rick.

I don't think the real issue here is "liberals," Hurley. The issue is the wretched leadership provided by the Bush administration. After the spending of nearly half a trillion dollars, the involvement of hundreds of thousands of our military people (with 2,700 dead and 20,000 wounded), two disastrous land wars and the 5 years since the 9-11 attacks, Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda are still at large and still killing Americans. And neither war shows any sign of coming to a successful conclusion.

Sometimes failure really is failure. We need new and effective leadership, not rehashed Karl Rove smear campaigns designed to prop up incompetents who have had their chance and failed miserably.
